This is an incomplete piece of work by me when our car conked on the highway between suratkal and mangalore....
Hoping to complete it sometime.....
Hawa thi garam baarish ka tha bharam
Shyaam ka waqt tha aur door kahi baj raha tha drum!
Jaana tha railway station lumba nahi tha safar
Pur kismat ka khel dekho hogaya safar suffer!
Hyundai nai banayi meri gadi, santro hai uska naam
barason ke baad meri gaadi ne kardiya kaam tamaam!
Radiator se nikla hose pipe sara coolant behegaya
Engine garam hogaya car beech sadak rukgaya
Na dhakke se hua start na ignition ne diya saath
Thakke baith gayen hum sub dhare haath pe haath!
Ab aaya ek farishta jo tha mechanic two wheeler ka
Lekin woh bhi kya kar sakta tha kyonki maamla tha 4 wheeler ka
Jaise taise karke pahoonche hum ek car mechanic ke paas
Usne engine me coolant daali and gave us some aas
Par kismat ab bhi apne agle chaal ke intzaar mein thi aur usne paasa phenka
Coolant ka pyaasa engine coolant peeke bhi nahi jaaga
Mechanic ne kiya eilaan ki car nahi start hoga
Aur issike saath humara wapas aane ki aas dooba
Ab yeh aalam hai ki baithe hai bandh garage ke paas
Tow karke lejaayge gaadi yeh liye aas...

what is more difficult than cycling to office....??
So, it has finally happened.....
The journey of life is supposed to teach us all many lessons along the way....and I learnt some of mine too...today, this morning infact!
1. An open mouth gathers lot of insects
2. A Downhill is not always bad and an uphill is not always good (read in the context of ups and downs of life)
3. When there is a downhill....there comes an uphill which takes away the fun of the downhill.(refer to point no.2)
4. Hard Seats can cause Impotency....(like they say...no flute...no music!, and before you folks ask, I have taken appropriate measures to protect myself)
So, here is how the journey unfolded...
0745 hrs Start from Raghuram Residency, Gokula, Mathikere
0800 hrs Mekhri Circle
0805 hrs TV Tower
0815 hrs Cantonment
0825 hrs Garuda Mall
o835 hrs NGV Koramangala
0845 hrs Ness Towers, Koramangala
And here are some interesting facts....
1. I take about an hour to hour and 15 minutes every day to reach office by car. I reached in exactly one hour by cycle.
2. In the car, the journey involves more of stopping at signals than actually travelling
3. Lot of road rage when you are in the car.
4. Cycle grants you immunity to traffic jams and traffic in general.
5. Police cannot fine you for jumping signals, riding on the footpath, or any such thing (especially relevant to me).
6. More people give you a second look than when you are in a car (relevant coz when i bought a new car, my friend Sharad said..."so Arvind, isnt it a better way to
wait in the traffic signals/jams)
Yes, I cycled to office, and I enjoyed every bit of it...the aches and pains in the first 5 to 6 kms to the loosening up of the muscles and the feeling that
I have always been cycling....
I cycled 18kms today, something that i did after about 14 years....those were the days when i used to cycle from Malleshwaram to Brigade road (about 12 to
13kms) almost everyday and some of the days were doubles....Those were the days when gears were a luxury and out of reach for most of us. But yet we used to
cycle like crazy.
I used to have a Hercules MTB.I remember the sad day when the cycle got stolen from the NIIT parking. My friend Ritesh came and told me that neither his
cycle nor mine was at the parking where it should have been.So we go to the malleshwaram police station to lodge a complaint about our stolen cycles. We are
led down this flight of stairs to a dingy room which looks like a dungeon and there plonked on a chair behind a large table in the typical Kannada movie "bad
cop" style. We are already scared by then and we were being treated like we were the criminals and not the ones who cam to complain about our cycles. Anyway,
we wait for a while and then granted audience with the Inspector, to whom we start narrating the story of how our cycles disappeared from the NIIT parking.
He listens and somewhere in between says ok ok you go now we will search for the cycles and if found will let you know. We are confused, so we ask him very
timidly though, that how will they find our cycles when they have not taken the details of the make, the color or any such thing. That, was when he turned into
the true "bad cop" of kannada movies and launched into this tirade of how they are the cops and not us and how dare we question their know-how or experience
in solving such cases and we were unceremoniously shooed out of there (we were glad to go as well, thankful that we werent jailed for losing our cycles!!).
It is another story that its been almost 13 years now and neither I nor my friend has ever seen our cycles again...maybe the cops solved the case, found the cycles but couldnt find us, so gifted the cycles to somebody (read their kids).Who knows..
This morning, dressed in a t-shrit and shorts, I cycled to office with a change of clothes in my bag. When I reached near office, for some strange reason I felt odd walking into the office in shorts. So any guesses as to what I did? Well, I see this swaraj mazda parked near office with the driver inside. So I request him if I can just enter the vehicle as I have to wear my pants and he thankfully obliged. So I enter the vehicle pull my jeans over my shorts and then go to office. Once in office I do a proper change of clothes which I am sure no wants details of so I shall let it pass.
At the end (which is actually the beginning of many such journeys) there was one more and the most important lesson of all that I learnt while cycling to office this morning...
whats more difficult than cycling to office..CYCLING BACK HOME FROM OFFICE!!!!

The Perils of being a Blogger!
Ok, so isnt it a little too early for me to be talking bout the perils of being a blogger? I mean its not like I have been blogging for ages that i become an expert to start talking bout the perils...nevertheless AB cees the perils already....!
So I am in office tired and sleepy as i havent slept the whole night due to work and trying to take a break by watching some funny videos when kanna goes.."dude either go home and sleep or atleast contribute to the blog.." its like now i have to have a post on the blog on a daily basis (i admit, that was the original thought).
You know the cartoons in which the tom uses a toothpick to support his drooping eyelids....? yeah picture me now doing something similar...ya ya i know i wont look as cute.
While I rack my brains as to what i should be writing here so that it makes an impressssssszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Blog title...!!!
"Here I am.." sung Bryan Adams....! (one of the very few english songs i understand and hence like ) . Everyone seems to be blogging and logging their lives on almost realtime basis...(pardon the usage of IT jargons, thats what i do for a living ;) ) which inspired me to capture atleast the not so mundane things that occur in my life and create a platform where that experience can be shared..... and what better way than a blog i thought so HERE I AM!.
So then the next question was popped by the blog site as to what the title shoud be....so after lot of intense deliberation which lasted for 30 long seconds i decided to name it "A B Cees Life.....!!" As usual a friend of mine (we will call him kanna) who loves to criticise and rubbish me.....in what he thinks as constructive criticism.....made fun of it saying it will be read as "A B Cease Life.." I decide to go with the title and run the risk of the title being perceived wrongly. By the way i will not go into detail introductions about this friend of mine as I am confident that he will very soon (like in the next minute of publishing this post) make his presence felt and opinion known on my blog.
and today's tidbit from kanna (more on the name in subsequent posts) "Blogging is like jogging and Tweeting is a dash!"
Thats it for now .. a humble beginning but a beginning nonetheless.....!
